This is a unique opportunity to get up-close and photograph illusive wildlife living in the Gearach Forest.
Over the years we have concentrated our efforts to Habitat Conservation. We have employed a management practice that seeks to conserve, protect and restore habitat areas for wild plants and animals. Conservation is not just important for animals but all living things, we are passionate about our work and the Gearach Forest is a Life Passion that we’d love to share with you.

The Forester Moth
This turquoise moth was discovered in our forestry in June 2011.
We took the photograph to the Islay National History Museum in Port Chaslotte Village, where it was verified that it had not been recorded on Islay before June 2011.
Islay Stalking is a wonderful opportunity for discovering the rare and beautiful.

We are Eleanor and Mark Piper and we are your Wildlife Stalking guides.
We have lived and worked in the beautiful Gearach Forest since 2004, when we moved here with our family.
We have seen so many unique sights both in the forest and on our Loch, we have witnessed amazing animal behaviour and been spellbound by the plants and insects relationships.
We have rescue donkeys, goats and peacocks and Mollie our American Quarter horse, not to forget our team of Spaniels.
Our clients have told us that some of their best photos have been taken in The Gearach Forest during the hours of dusk and dawn, this co-insides with the movement of the resident roe and red deer and the natural light conditions due to no light pollution. On a clear night you can see the milky way and from late September to late March you maybe lucky enough to see the aurora borealis.
